Welcome to the Criminal Data Dashboard

Introduction

This dashboard shows activity statistics for the Criminal District Courts and Criminal County Courts at Law. Each month the Travis County District Clerk’s Office submits data regarding felony cases to the State Office of Court Administration (OCA). Likewise, the Travis County Clerk’s Office submits data regarding misdemeanor cases to the OCA.

Upon opening the dashboard, you will see activity statistics for the calendar year to date. The Clerk’s Offices are required to report the monthly statistics to the OCA on the 21st day of each month for the previous month. For example, on May 21st, the statistics for the month of April are reported. This is an interactive dashboard and the user may change the default selections at any time (see the Help tab for instructions).

The above mentioned data is available to the public. The purpose of this dashboard is to provide ready accessibility and clarity.

Charts

The data is presented using two chart types: the Pie Chart and the Bar Chart. The Pie Chart presents data starting in 2011 until current year. The Pie Chart will start off showing calendar year data to date. To change the time period, use the *Year* and *Month* filters by clicking on the months and years you want to see. The filter tab will turn green when the filter has been applied. The Bar Chart presents data by Year, Month and Quarter. Use the circular arrow on the bottom right of the Bar Chart to switch the time period.
